Apandago’s Story

My name is Apandago Obed Ateawin, and I am a Level 200 Medical Laboratory Technology student. My journey through education has not been easy. Like many young people, I have dreams for my future, but unlike my dreams, my financial circumstances have often made the journey difficult. There have been times when I have worried about how I would meet the financial demands of my education. School fees, learning materials, transportation, accommodation, and other academic expenses can become overwhelming when financial resources are limited. Despite these challenges, I have refused to give up because I believe that education can change not only my life, but also the lives of the people around me. I chose Medical Laboratory Technology because I want to contribute to healthcare by helping with accurate laboratory investigations that can guide the diagnosis and treatment of patients. I understand that becoming a competent medical laboratory professional requires dedication, discipline, and continuous learning, and I am committed to giving my best despite the obstacles I face. My greatest goal is not simply to graduate and get a job. I want to become someone whose journey inspires others to believe in the power of education, especially young people who come from difficult financial backgrounds. I want someone who is struggling today to look at my story tomorrow and say, “If he could overcome his challenges through education, then I can do it too.” Receiving this scholarship would mean much more to me than financial assistance. It would give me the opportunity to concentrate more fully on my studies and move closer to becoming the medical laboratory professional I aspire to be. It would also remind me that someone believes my education and future are worth investing in. I may not have all the financial resources I need, but I have determination, a dream, and the willingness to work for it. I am asking for this scholarship not because I expect an easy journey, but because I want the opportunity to continue the journey I have already fought so hard to begin. My dream is to graduate, serve others, and become living proof that financial hardship does not have to be the end of someone's educational journey. I want my success to become motivation for others to believe in education and never give up on themselves.
